Amy Reyes, M.A., Psy.D.

Dr. Reyes is a bilingual (fluent in Spanish) Registered Psychological Assistant with a great deal of experience, currently working towards licensure under the direct supervision of Dr. Marissa Long, MAOB, Psy.D..

Education

Dr. Reyes earned her Doctorate in Psychology from Alliant International University, an accredited institution. Dr. Reyes also earned a Masters of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Forensics at Argosy University in San Francisco and a Bachelors of Arts with a major in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton.

Training and Experience

Dr. Reyes’ training focused on working with individuals and children across all phases of life and treating a broad spectrum of clinical issues including substance abuse/dependence, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and more severe mental health concerns. During her training, she worked with children of various ages at Children’s Collective, Los Angeles where she conducted intake evaluations, individual therapeutic play therapy, facilitated pre-school socialization groups and classroom observations to aid in treatment planning. She also has training in working with minors (3+) providing individual therapy, family interventions, and group therapy such as Anger Management and Substance Abuse. Dr. Reyes also has years of experience working with patients in the hospital setting conducting intake evaluations, suicide risk assessments, individual and family therapy as well as providing community referrals.

Dr. Reyes’ vast experience has allowed her to develop a calming and sincere presence in session which her clients greatly appreciate. She is comfortable using humor and empathy as well as a straightforward approach in connecting to develop a therapeutic approach which will fit each individual client. Dr. Reyes understands that each person brings their own experiences, personal identities, and strengths to the table when they attend therapy and she strives to use that to facilitate growth and help the client reach their goals.

Personal Comments

Dr. Reyes’ interests include the outdoors such as hiking and running, watching movies, reading and listening to music. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and experiencing new things. She loves learning and has many different interests outside of her clinical work.
