Education and Training
Kellie earned her Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutrition with an emphasis in Dietetics, from the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. In addition, she earned her Masters in Public Health from Loma Linda University. She completed her Dietetic Internship, which included over 1,200 hours of supervised practice. Her experience was spent at Kaiser Permanente in Ontario, Alvord Unified School District in Riverside, and with the University of Riverside Wellness Program. Her training included the full scope of dietetics allowing her to work with a variety of individuals, families and groups struggling with concerns such as weight management, diabetes, malnutrition, and food allergies as well as more severe issues addressed during extended hospitalization that requires education and experience that Registered Dietitians specifically complete.
Kellie has over six years of dietetic experience with assisting others achieve healthier lifestyles. Her training has prepared her to assess nutritional status, develop plans of care, and evaluate outcomes for a variety of patient cases including but not limited to wellness, cardiac, diabetes, renal, cancer, malnutrition, and gastro-intestinal. Additionally, during her training she worked with children of various ages at Alvord Unified School District to ensure they received a balanced and nutritious diet. She was also involved with the University of Riverside Wellness program, where she created numerous engaging and attractive programs aimed to motivate faculty and staff to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Kellie has gained a wide variety of experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary health team in both in-patient and outpatient settings. She has experience working with patients in the hospital setting providing education about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between healthy eating habits and the prevention and management of disease. She has enriched her professional experience by providing nutrition education within underserved communities to include, San Bernadino Free Clinic, Perris Free Clinic, and International Medical Mission trips to Belize and Honduras.

When you meet Kellie, you can expect to feel comfortable and at ease. Kellie views nutrition therapy as a collaborative process. Her goal is to always work with clients in a way that works best for them. Kellie strives for her patients to feel confident and capable with the tools they have gained to live the healthy lifestyle they choose. With the understanding that each person brings their own set of unique life experiences, personal identities, habits and likes/dislikes to the table when they attend session, she strives to help patients facilitate lifelong healthy habits to reach their nutrition goals.

Kellie understands that nutrition therapy includes working closely with clients and other healthcare professionals to address the needs of the person as a whole. She recognizes the commitment to making change can be challenging, but believes with proper education and planning, it is very possible.
