Dr. Chen received her Psy.D. in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Irvine and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Westwood. She additionally earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Hawaii, Hilo.
Training and Experience:
Dr. Chen has experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults within many multicultural contexts in a variety of treatment settings, including school-based therapy, residential, groups, and private practice. Dr. Chen gained supervised experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, identity issues, trauma, grief, and life transition issues. She additionally has had the opportunity to provide psychotherapy services for people who have experienced homelessness in downtown Los Angeles, treating a broad spectrum of clinical issues ranging from substance abuse to hoarding tendencies. Dr. Chen values the importance of collaborating with clients and tailor therapeutic interventions based on their individual needs.
